Season 5 included a group of handsome contestants vying for the love of Jillian Harris in 2009.  Let's take a deep dive look at these guys.  This is a developing story.

Ed Swiderski.

Ed Swiderski, a 33 year old Technology Consultant from Chicago, when he was on Bachelor Pad Season 3 in 2012.  He was also on @bacheloretteabc Season 5 with Jillian Harris in 2009. Ed was the winner of final rose.  While their discovery of love wasn’t long-term and lasted into 2010, they ended up selecting other partners.


Since 2015, Ed is married to Natalie Bomke, anchor and host of Good Day Chicago.  Olive, his first child, was born in 2020.


He is a global account direct at SalesForce, and a graduate of Michigan State University.

Julien Hug.

R.I.P. Julien Hug, a 34 year old Restaurateur from San Diego, California, while he was on @bacheloretteabc Season 5 with Jillian Harris in 2009.  He was eliminated during week 2.

Sadly, Julien was found dead off a highway in the Southern California desert in 2010.  He was on his way to help his family manage their restaurant.  The method of death was determined to be suicide by a single gunshot wound.  His suicide note was read at his funeral.  R.I.P. Julien. 😇

Kipton Locke.

Kiptyn Locke was a 32 year old Sales & Operations Manager from Encinitas, California, when he appeared on Bachelor Pad Season 1 in 2010.  He was also one of the contestants on The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris, where he was the runner-up.

Kiptyn had a son with Samm Murphy in 2015.  He dated her, when his relationship ended with Tenley Molzahn Leopold (we wrote about her earlier).  Tenley and Kiptyn developed a relationship after appearing on The Bachelor Pad together.

Jesse Kovacs.

Jesse Kovacs, was on Bachelor Pad Season 1 in 2012.  He was a 28 year old Winemaker from Los Angeles, California.  Jesse was also on The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris, Season 5.

Jesse also appeared on The Millionaire Matchmaker, with host Patti Stanger, dating show in 2015.

Jesse appears to remain single.

The forever memorable Wes Hayden, with the sweet country accent was a contestant on @Bachelorabc Pad Season 1.  He was a 33 year old Country Music Artist from Austin, Texas.  He also appeared on The @Bacheloretteabc Season with Jillian.  Wes also dated Gia Allemand (2010 - 2011), and we recently covered her story.

Jillian Harris.

Jillian Harris, a 29 year old interior designer from Peace River, Alberta, Canada, was the Bachelorette during Season 5 in 2009.  She selected Ed Swiderski as the recipient of her final rose.  Their hearts aligned for a short period of time.  She was also on Bachelor Season 13 with Jason Mesnick.  She finished in 3rd place.  

Jillian is involved in another relationship with her partner, Justin Passuto, and she has two children, a daughter and a son.  Jillian used her 5 minutes of fame and turned it into major success.  She is on HGTV Canada as a designer on Love It or List It Vancouver.
